Port Melbourne Sharks and Moreland Zebras are the most recent clubs to welcome new faces this off-season, as they announced the signing of John Maclean and Gai Gai this morning.

Maclean joins Port Melbourne after a short stint at Bentleigh Greens having previously been vice-captain of Melbourne Victory’s youth side.

The talented striker links up with former teammates Chris Cristaldo, Kobbie Boahene and James Karvelis, who have all joined Port Melbourne this off-season.

Port has been one of the busier teams in the off-season transfer period as new coach Domenic Barba looks to spearhead a rebuild after a number of years situated in the bottom half of the NPL table.

Elsewhere, Gai Ayuei Gai becomes the latest inclusion to Zebras’ squad following recent signings of Richmond duo Javier Marangos and Kaspar Scheiber, and Adelaide City playmaker Wali Elqioin.

Gai joins from Bulleen Lions where the utility was a key player in the U20s side, scoring three goals this year as the side finished second.

Zebras will be pushing for promotion once again next season, looking to return to the top flight after four years in the lower division.
