St Albans have moved to further bolster its squad ahead of a NPL Victoria top flight return, today announcing the signing of former Hume City defender Daniel Chaabani.
Chaabani is the second former Hume City player to head to Churchill Reserve, joining Hernan Espindola as well as former Avondale shot-stopper Chris May.
Speaking to the club’s website, Chaabani said he was looking to add some experience to the newly promoted St Albans squad.
“I’ve been in and around the NPL since I was 16,” Chaabani said in a statement made to the club’s website.
“I think I have a fair bit of experience that I can bring to the table and help the club have a successful season.”
“Personally I think I will help chemistry-wise which [I believe] is vital to being successful because the talent is already there for the team,” he said.

St Albans secured promotion back to the top flight of Victorian Football after it finished top of the NPL 2 East conference in 2016, before it was defeated by fellow promoted side Kingston City in the NPL 2 Grand Final at Lakeside Stadium.
Espindola, May, Matthew Cundari and Chaabani will further strengthen Kruni Razov’s side, which had earlier announced a batch of re-signings, with Joseph Monek, Nick Sarbin, Nana Yaw Otuo, Rodrigo Covarrubias, Ben Shaper and Michael Gurgic all recommitting themselves to another campaign at the Churchill Reserve based club.
