Recently relegated club Northcote City will be without head coach Goran Lozanovski in the NPL2 next season after it was announced this morning that he was departing the club.
Citing personal reasons, Lozanovski made the decision to step down from the role as head coach of the club he had returned to mid-way through the season.
It’s no secret that I love Northcote, and it’s with an extremely heavy heart that I have to walk away,” Lozanovski said.
Returning after a successful stint which included winning the 2013 VPL title, the former Socceroo took the reins once again after a poor start to the season saw Northcote sitting bottom of the table after eight games.
While Lozanovski was able to ignite a small turnaround in results and performance in the second half of the season, it was ultimately not enough to stave off relegation.
“We made some huge improvements in a short time this season and I’m convinced that the club is back on the right track. I wish everyone here the best and I have no doubts that we’ll see Northcote back where it belongs very soon,” he said.
The club now commences the search for a suitable replacement to oversee the 2017 campaign where Northcote will be looking to spring straight back into the top flight of the NPL.
