German signing Maxi Beister is set to make his debut for Melbourne Victory since his arrival at the club last month.
Beister has been training with the squad in recent weeks but has only been able to now make his debut against Western Sydney Wanderers this weekend as paperwork for his visa was yet to be approved.
The 26-year-old is on loan from Bundesliga side Mainz 05 and comes into the side as Victory has seen an up and down start to the season, registering two wins, two losses and a draw in its first five games.
The German was once teammates with former Victory star and Socceroo Robbie Kruse during the pair’s stints at Fortuna Dusseldorf where the left-footed striker scored 18 goals in 59 games.
Victory hosts Wanderers tomorrow night at Etihad Stadium, kick-off at 7:50pm.
